FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Here are some of the most frequently asked questions by our clients.  Hopefully, they will answer some of your questions as well!

Why should I use a Platinum Pet Sitting sitter?

Your pet will remain in his familiar, secure environment and follow his customary diet and exercise routine. Your pet is not exposed to illness of other animals. Most importantly, your pet receives lots of love and personal attention while you are away. Our sitters have been certified in Pet CPR and First Aid. We have NO blackout dates! Our sitters are completely backed up by one of other sitters in cases of emergency, illness, or sitter vacations.

Have your sitters passed a background check?

Our sitters must pass a Criminal background check to be considered for employment.

Are your sitters bonded and insured?

That’s a great question! Our sitters are employees of Platinum Pet Sitting and we are covered with Bonding, Liability Insurance as well as Workers Compensation Insurance.

Why do I care that your sitters have Workers Compensation Insurance?

Let’s say a sitter falls in your house, driveway or is bitten by your dog; Worker Compensation will cover them vs them going after you to pay for their injuries. This is why you want to have a service like us with employees!

What do you do on a visit?

Our pet sitting visits include: Feeding per your instructions, fresh water, dogs walked or back yard play, love and play time, brushing, litter box scooping, bird cage cleaned, medication given if needed, mail and newspaper brought in, plants watered, lights rotated if asked,. Lots of TLC.

What information do I need to provide at the meet n’ greet?

Prior to the meet’ greet, you will need to fill out your profile completely. We will then have all the information we need about your pets allowing us to spend the consultation time getting to know you and your fur babies. We do ask that your pets are up to date on vaccinations.

What happens in an emergency? Is there a form to fill out to authorize emergency care?

Yes, we do have a form to fill out that your veterinarian will accept.

May I book my visits thought my pet sitter directly?

No, All visits must be booked through our online booking system or call 813-501-7381. You can also email us at  info@PlatinumPetSitting.com. Your visit will NOT be covered under our liability insurance if you do not book through Platinum Pet Sitting. Please contact our office for bookings and cancelations. It is fine if you would like as a courtesy to let your sitter know you may not need a visit but please realize we do have a cancelation policy and is not up to your sitter to give you a credit.

Can I be assured of the same pet sitter each time?

We prefer to have the continuity of the same pet sitter each time, however if the sitter is not available then a fully informed substitute sitter will be available for back up.

May I give my pet sitter / dog walker a gratuity?

Absolutely. Your sitter will certainly will appreciate too. Thanks for thinking of them! You may leave cash or add a tip to your invoice. Your sitter will get 100% of the gratuity.

Do you always visit at the time we ask for?

We book your visits within a time frame and will be there during that time. If you are booking a cat or small animal visit for the early morning and it is during peak times such as a holiday, we may switch the visit to a later morning visit due to the fact that we need to get  to dogs first, unless of course, you have a cat that needs medicine at a critical time. If time is critical, please let us know.

Do you take my key or can you use door code?

We suggest a lock box which we will furnish but keyless entry is great too. If we are using a garage code, it is best to have a backup method as well.

What forms of payments do you accept?

Platinum Pet Sitting uses “WePay” for processing of payments and we accept ACH or Credit Cards.

When must payments be made?

Payment is due 3 days before service begins with the exception of holiday visits and then payment is due 1 week before service begins. Overnight visits also require a 50% deposit at the time of booking and full payment for the overnights are due two weeks in advance.

Weekly, recurring mid-day walks will be charged Friday AFTER visits for the week.

If my pet has an “accident”, do you clean it up?

Yes, we will clean up after your pets to the best of our ability. If there are always accidents, we will ask you to book  an additional visit in the day.  We will do a walk through to check for accidents.

Is the meet n’ greet free?

Our meet n’ greet is $15. We charge $30 if you need a lock box as we require that if you do not have keyless entry.

We will then ask you to put 2 working key in it for when your service begins. Then just hang your key storage box in an easily accessible location that is not too obvious such as a railing,  fence, outdoor pipe, shed door, or doorknob.

Why do you ask for 2 keys in the lock box?

Things happen! A key could break, a sitter could accidentally lock one inside. We just always try to be prepared.

Do you pick up my dog’s waste when you are walking?

Yes, absolutely! We do ask that you provide the poop bags…thank you!
